The project

Altra Planning successfully obtained resource consent to enable the formation of a legal road providing formal access to a property that had historically relied on an informal access arrangement by mutual agreement.

The proposal involved several planning non-compliances, including traffic, setback and earthworks requirements, alongside concerns raised by neighbouring property owners. Prior to our involvement, the client had been advised by council that the application was likely to require notification, potentially resulting in significant additional costs, delays and uncertainty.

Through careful assessment, strategic planning advice and relatively minor refinements to the proposal, we were able to address key planning concerns and successfully secure resource consent on a non-notified basis, despite the complexities involved.

This project highlights our practical, solutions-focused approach and ability to navigate contentious planning matters, identifying opportunities to achieve positive outcomes while minimising unnecessary costs and delays for our clients.
